하지만 흐름을 일부러 찾는다는 얘기를 하는 것 자체가 창업 아이디어를 얻는 데에 있어서 B안 밖에 안 된다는 것을 나타냅니다. 흐름을 찾는다는 것은 자생적인 방법을 인공적으로 가장하는 것입니다. 만약 급변하고 있는 분야의 최첨단에 서있다면, 흐름을 찾을 필요가 없습니다. 당신이 그 흐름 자체이니까요.

창업 아이디어를 찾는 것은 미묘한 일입니다. 그렇기 때문에 이를 시도하는 많은 사람들이 형편없이 실패합니다. 그냥 창업 아이디어를 찾는 것은 잘 통하지 않습니다. 그렇게 하면, 위험할 정도로 그럴듯한 나쁜 아이디어들을 찾게 됩니다. 가장 좋은 방법은 간접적입니다. 올바른 종류의 배경을 가지고 있다면, 좋은 창업 아이디어들은 당신에게 당연한 것처럼 느껴질 겁니다. 하지만 그런 경우에도 당장 발견되지는 않습니다. 뭔가 부족하다고 느끼는 상황을 마주할 때까지 시간이 필요합니다. 그리고 대부분의 경우, 이런 부족함은 창업 아이디어가 아니라, 그냥 만들면 흥미로울 것 같은 아이디어라고 생각되어질 겁니다. 따라서 그냥 흥미롭다고 생각하는걸 만들 수 있는 시간과 의향을 가지고 있는게 좋습니다.

미래에 살면서 흥미로운걸 만드세요. 이상하게 들리겠지만, 이게 진정한 기법입니다.
